Week 13 Mega Chemist Challenge Clues

This weeks Mega Chemist sadly died earlier this year, and although he may not be immediately recognisable to many, his place as a Mega Chemist is unquestionable. His name is learnt studying undergraduate organic synthesis, and is typically associated with another gentleman’s name, the co-author of the classic 1957 paper which will feature in this weeks Mega Chemist Challenge. This weeks Mega Chemist was known for work in the fields of quantum chemistry, molecular orbital theory and photochemistry, and held the position of Hilldale and A. C. Cope Professor of Chemistry. He also shared a not so common surname with one of the world’s most famous folk musicians. Answers….@karldcollins or via email
