Here are the clues for the Mega Chemist Challenge. The answer and the next challenge will be available from Wednesday.
I was born in 1902 and read chemistry at Berlin University before moving to Kiel to complete my PhD in 1926. In 1938 I was awarded the Emil Fischer Memorial Medal from the Association of German Chemists and subsequently was appointed to the Chair for Experimental Chemistry and Chemical Technology at Cologne University in 1940. I was later awarded the Nobel prize in chemistry alongside a man who was not only a peer, but also my mentor. I died in 1958.
